A big part of traveling is meeting people, and what better spot to go than a bar? Before you arrive here in the Caribbean you\u2019ll want to know the best bars in the Virgin Islands. Taking into account the islands are full of pristine beaches, vacationers, and homemade island rum, it\u2019s pretty obvious the bar scen will be alive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you enjoy your drinks best on the beach, in a fine dining restaurant, or the yachty hot spot, we\u2019ve got a place for each vacation-goer. Salt the rim, prepare the lime, find your DD, and let’s jump into the five best bars in the Virgin Islands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top 5 Best Bars in The Virgin Islands<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Below in no particularly order we\u2019ve gone ahead and listed five of the best bars to help you out planning your next vacation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. The Box Bar – St Thomas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Located in Yacht Haven Grande Marina, The Box Bar<\/a> is a staple to the yachty community on the island. Conveniently right behind the dock entrance you can find all your local yacht stewardess\u2019s and stewards here enjoying their time off. The crowd is younger during the busy season (October-April), but you can always find an old sailor there enjoying their beverages as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Box Bar is pet friendly, so expect to see friendly animals while being served. For any problems, concerns, or just a friendly hello, stop by and see the manager Parker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. The Windmill Bar – St John<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

St John is know for its nature, hiking trails, and of course Kenny Chesney. Located on one of the mountain peaks you\u2019ll find The Windmill Bar<\/a>, which hands down, has the best view you\u2019ll find while enjoying a cold one. On certain occasions you can find local artists playing here (although, they\u2019ll charge you an outrageous amount to attend), or themed parties. This bar is a staple to the St John community, and goes down as one of my absolute favorites in the Virgin Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Doghouse – St Thomas <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sports bars are where the boys go to enjoy their beers while their watching the game. If you\u2019re on the islands during a big sporting event the Doghouse Bar<\/a> is more than likely where you\u2019ll end. Bar food, cold beer, and an open bar setting, you can\u2019t go wrong visiting here. Located seconds away are 6-8 more bars where you can enjoy more bevys. If you\u2019re hungry try out the mozzarella sticks, they\u2019re to die for. As well if you\u2019re searching for a Blue Moon on St Thomas, this is where you\u2019ll find it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. The Willy T – Floating Bar of The British Virgin Islands<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Willy T<\/a> is a famous floating bar located in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). It is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, offering a unique drinking and dining experience in a picturesque setting. The Willy T is actually a ship, specifically a 100-foot schooner, which is anchored off the coast of Norman Island in the BVI. The ship has been converted into a bar and restaurant, with several levels for guests to enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The atmosphere on the Willy T is lively and laid-back, with a party atmosphere that attracts people from all over the world. Brew STX offers a rotating selection of beers, which are all brewed on-site using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The brewery’s flagship beer is the Island Hoppin’ IPA, which features tropical notes of mango, passionfruit, and pineapple. Other popular brews include the Gallows Bay Gose, the Hibiscus Wheat, and the Christiansted Stout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As long as you have the extra money to throw around, you\u2019ll find the party no matter where you head. Start in Cruz Bay on the beach and work your way around the island. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where to Party in St Thomas Virgin Islands?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For the younger crowd your best locations will be starting at The Box Bar in Yacht Haven Grande and following the crowd around. Within a half mile radius you\u2019ll fin ten plus bars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the older crowd, swing over to Rivers Rum Hut for the best frozen drinks on the island. Ask for Greg, and get the mango mamba.  Once you\u2019ve enjoyed your drink, talk to the locals and find out what best suits your night out. For sports fun, and a lively atmosphere Tap & Still is a great option as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is The Virgin Islands a Party Place?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Considering the Virgin Islands is one of the highest rated vacation spots for all Americans, the Virgin Islands can definitely throw a party. If you\u2019r really looking to enjoy your time and experience the impressive Caribbean culture, plan your visit for the last week in April so you can attend the five day long festival Carnival!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
